Women supporting women at home, at work, in growth! Donna's Story Personal

Donna is a unique combination of talent and energy. Her background explains some of that. She was born in Chicago in 1946 to Esther and Michael Centanne. Her dad is of strong Italian background, while her mom's people came from Persia, now known as Iran. So... Donna is a dark-haired, dark-eyed woman with wonderfully expressive gestures and a passion for ideas and people. She is the energetic firstborn of a vibrant family that claimed Chicago as home until moving to Phoenix in 1979. Donna is a graduate of Amundson High School and attended Moody Bible Institute. She is currently working on her Masters degree in Divinity.

Family

Donna is married to David, a Scottsdale tax attorney. They have one daughter, Anissa, who graduated from Westmont College and is in the master's program at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Faith / Church

Donna committed herself to Christ in 1962, an event which changed the course of her life. She has ministered to women as a speaker and author since 1982. David and Donna are members of Scottsdale Bible Church where they are active in church ministries including women's ministry (Donna), church elder (David), mission work, church planting, new membership classes, Sunday school teachers, and intern programs. At one time, they were even members of the choir. They think serving is an action verb!

Vocational

Donna often says she is "just a homemaker" because she knows what a big and valuable job that is. But Donna also has found time to write seven books and speak to literally thousands of women over the years, primarily on organizational and mentoring subjects. Donna served on the executive committee of the Luis Palau Evangelistic Crusade and is a member of the board of the Phoenix Seminary. David is also president of the Greater Arizona Christian Community Foundation.

Relational

Donna has a strong commitment to the many people God brings into her life. She leads a bi-monthly Bible study with a group of young mothers who call themselves Lilies. She is also 17 years into a lifelong covenant to meet regularly with a group of sisters in Christ, called her Chaber Sisters.

Community

She founded and heads a ministry to stay-at-home mothers called Homemakers By Choice which ministers weekly to hundreds of mothers with small children.

As you can see, Donna is a community person, giving her time and resources to Christian and community work. She is an avid Diamondbacks baseball fan and works to improve her neighborhood in small and large ways.
